Boys & Girls Clubs of Mitchell County received an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Project (ASAPP) grant from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), an agency of the State of Georgia. The goal(s) this organization plans to address are: reduce the early onset of alcohol use among 9-20 year olds and reduce the access to alcohol and binge drinking among 9-20 year olds. Some other components of the Strategic Prevention Framework, with which are partners may be able to assist includes, but not limited to: capacity building and sustainability of the efforts to increase awareness and education about underage drinking to reach youth, parents, as well as the community at large. Boys & Girls Clubs of Mitchell County will provide services in Camilla and Thomasville. Alcohol is a drug and underage drinking is illegal.
