Boys & Girls Clubs of Mitchell County is conducting a community-wide social marketing campaign, “Be the Wall”, in Camilla. Be the Wall is funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Office of Prevention Services and Programs. The state initiative goal is to reduce the early onset of alcohol use among 9-20 year olds. The basic message behind this campaign is to ask adults to “Be the Wall” between Teens and Alcohol. We want adults to be familiar with the brick wall image and remind them that when they say one thing, teens might hear another; so when it comes to teens and alcohol, Be Clear, Be Firm, and Be Consistent. ALCOHOL is a drug and underage drinking is illegal.
